First day at school is a memorable day in one's life. It is significant and important. The event exists in mind and never be forgotten. My first day at school is such an important and memorable day in my life. When I was five years old, my father told me about my new school. On that night, I was thinking about my new school, teachers and the students. I was excited and couldn't sleep. My father took me to Narail Govt. Primary School the next day. The school is one of the most famous schools in our village. We went there on foot. My father took me to the Headmaster's room. I was afraid of this new place. My heart began to beat. But his smiling face and gentle words put me at ease. He asked me my name. Then he pointed to a letter chart and asked me to tell the letters. I could tell them all because my mother taught them at home. He became pleased with me. Then he called a teacher. The teacher took me to the classroom. He gave me a seat in the classroom. The classmates received me warmly. At tiffin time I played with them and we all became good friends. At 4 o'clock I returned my home. Really the day was full of excitement and it is still ever fresh in my heart. It gives me pleasure in my leisure.

অনুবাদ : বিদ্যালয়ে আমার প্রথম দিন বিদ্যালয়ের প্রথম দিনটি প্রত্যেকের জীবনে একটি স্মরণীয় দিন। এটি তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ এবং গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। ঘটনাগুলাে হৃদয়ে গেঁথে থাকে এবং কখনাে ভুলে থাকা যায় না। বিদ্যালয়ের প্রথম দিনটি আমার জীবনে এমন একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ও স্মরণীয় দিন। যখন আমার বয়স পাঁচ বছর তখন আমার বাবা আমাকে আমার নতুন স্কুল সম্পর্কে বললেন। ঐ রাতে আমি আমার নতুন বিদ্যালয়, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকা ও ছাত্রছাত্রী সম্পর্কে ভাবছিলাম। আমি উত্তেজিত ছিলাম এবং সে রাতে ঘুমাতে পারিনি। পরের দিন সকালে বাবা আমাকে নড়াইল সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে নিয়ে গেলেন। বিদ্যালয়টি আমাদের গ্রামের অন্যতম বিখ্যাত বিদ্যালয়। আমরা পায়ে হেঁটে সেখানে গেলাম। বাবা আমাকে প্রধান শিক্ষকের কক্ষে নিয়ে গেলেন। ঐরকম একটি নতুন জায়গায় আমি ভয় পেয়ে গেলাম। আমার হৃদকম্পন শুরু হলাে। কিন্তু তার হাস্যোজ্জ্বল মুখ এবং নম্র কথাবার্তা আমাকে স্বস্তি দিল। তিনি আমাকে আমার নাম জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন। তারপর তিনি একটি বর্ণমালার ছক আঙুল দিয়ে নির্দেশ করলেন এবং আমাকে বর্ণগুলাে বলতে বললেন। আমি সেগুলাে সব বলতে পারলাম, কারণ মা আমাকে সেগুলাে বাড়িতে শিখিয়েছিলেন। তিনি আমার প্রতি খুশি হলেন। তারপর তিনি একজন - শিক্ষককে ডাকালেন। শিক্ষক আমাকে শ্রেণিকক্ষে নিয়ে গেলেন। তিনি শ্রেণিকক্ষে আমাকে একটি আসন দিলেন। সহপাঠীরা আমাকে উষ্ণভাবে গ্রহণ করল। টিফিনের সময় আমি তাদের সাথে খেলাধুলা করলাম এবং আমরা সবাই ভালাে বন্ধ হয়ে গেলাম। আমি ৪ টায় বাড়ি ফিরে এলাম। দিনটি সত্যিই উত্তেজনায় ভরপুর ছিল এবং আমার মনে দিনটি এখনও চিরসবুজ হয়ে আছে। অবসরে এটি আমাকে আনন্দ দিয়ে থাকে।
